Rainbow Dancer Cruises is Mark Page and Carlos Romero Diaz, partners in business and life, who combine their talents and experience to create sailing trips in Puerto Vallarta for the discriminating gay customer.
We don't do the normal booze cruises. We love yachting and want to help our customers experience the joys of the sea, of exploring remote coasts, of feeling a heavy yacht under full sail in the wind, of enjoying a day of first class yachting.
Our corporation that runs the boat was formed in 1997, and originally we specialized in high-end private charters rather than gay cruises. We perfected on these private trips the food service concepts we now use, and discovered how we could scale up the processes to provide ticketed passengers the same first class treatment.
No one was offering first class style cruises in the gay market (or in the straight market for that matter), so we took the plunge. We started our gay cruises in September 1999. Since then the Rainbow Dancer gay cruises have become the most popular gay cruises ever offered in Vallarta. If you thought the other cruises were just a bit too much like a college beer blast at sea, then you'll find our trips to be a refreshing alternative. We promise you a day of first class yachting!
Carlos is our chef aboard and often does extra duty entertaining our guests with his wonderful sense of humor.
He seems to be a contradiction with his rich Mexican cultural heritage combined with just the right touch of gringa stylishness. (maybe he dated too many gringos before marrying Mark).
Not just another pretty face, Carlos is trained as an artist and graphic designer at the University in Mexico City, and he now uses his creative talents for the food service aboard Rainbow Dancer. He believes in fully using the local herbs, spices and chiles to make traditional as well as original Mexican dishes that you won't see in your Taco Bell at home.
Carlos's experience includes years of service as a host on the Amadeus gay cruises here in Vallarta.
Mark normally takes care of the yacht and the things nautical. Although we use a licensed Mexican captain, as required by law, Mark, as the host, really is acting as the captain for your trip.
Trained as an electrical engineer in Chicago, he retired 5 years ago from the corporate life to travel around the world in his sailing yacht Rainbow Dancer.
Sailing since his childhood on Lake Michigan, Mark has years of large yacht experience on San Francisco Bay. He sailed Rainbow Dancer from San Francisco to Vallarta in 1995, in search of something better to do than drive a desk. Mark has thousands of miles of sea experience and several years experience in managing charter operations here in Banderas Bay.
