The food service onboard the Rainbow Dancer Cruises distinguishes us from most of our competitors, gay or straight. So many sailing cruises on this bay have a box lunch or something equally unimaginative. But we like to think of a Rainbow Dancer Cruise as a day of yachting, and a box lunch just doesn't seem like yachting to us. We are the only gay cruise in Vallarta with a full time chef employed. Carlos supervises the provisioning, preparation and presentation on every cruise, much to our customers satisfaction! We are proud of the quality and variety of the food served aboard Rainbow Dancer. While there is some variation daily, our typical menu is listed here. All items are prepared by us in our kitchens and aboard. All items are homemade by our staff, and presented with the utmost care. You'll find unique sauces and salsas, wonderfully flavorful marinades, a salad that isn't an just a bunch of iceberg lettuce, delightful appetizers, and more. But, if you're counting your calories, beware, the food is way too tempting and too plentiful! Food safety is also a major obsession with us. We wash all the produce items in Microdyne, a disinfectant that kills all those things that make tourists leery of eating in Mexico, and wash the boat out after every trip with a chlorine based solution. This is one place you can eat as much as you want and know the food is safe. Rainbow Dancer's bar is 1st class too. So many cruises serve the cheapest stuff on their open bar, usually the sort of stuff not worthy of being used as paint thinner! Our bar is well stocked, with name brands like Bacardi Rum & Smirnoff Vodka. We'll never hide the bottles from you when we serve you from our open bar. We're proud of our selections. And if you prefer, we also stock international brands (like Absolut Vodka or Jacks Daniels) at modest prices. So how do we pull all this off? The galley includes a refrigerator, gimbaled stove and a freezer with a bar built into the top of the freezer. Equipped with stainless pots and pans, restaurant quality knives and cutting boards, and elegant serving dishes, Rainbow Dancer has what it takes to do it right! Our meals are served buffet style, usually at the navigation station, opposite the galley where the food is prepared. On Rainbow Dancer, you'll never be served a paper plate, disposable glass or forks, or anything like that. The busiest crew member aboard is the one doing the dishes. For many who visit Rainbow Dancer, the food becomes the attraction. Never a box lunch here! |
